PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) – Pirates starter Jeff Locke is fighting for a spot in the Pirates rotation and talked about how the spring is going for him so far.
Before getting to talk to Locke though, Starkey, Miller and Mueller got pranked by another Pirates pitcher and had no idea.
When the guys finally got to talk with Locke, they found out that he likes where he’s at right now as he’s stretching out his arm, working on holding runners and just getting ready for the season.
Locke talked about his pitching style and let us know what we can expect to see from him if he makes the rotation.
“I’m never going to be a guy that’s gonna throw the ball 100 miles an hour on both sides of the plate,” he said. “I’ve got to be able to work with what I have. I’ve got to be able to move my fastball inside and out, up and down and mix my changeup.”
We wrapped things up with Locke doing some word association about his teammates.
